    This mini makes me happy

    January 30, 2015 / No Comments

I’m often asked which Xyron machine is my favorite and for this assignment that’s exactly what the Xyron people wanted to know. Such a difficult question to answer – especially for me. I own, love and use them all and have for all my crafting years. My Xyron 1.5″ Sticker Maker was purchased on my very first night of scrapbooking at a crop. I had no idea what I was doing back then but realized quickly this was one little special tool! It didn’t take me long to purchase the 5″ Creative Station then before I knew it I just had to have the 9″ Creative Station because I make…

Thanks for stopping by on this wonderful Thanksgiving day! This is my last post as guest designer for Dreamweaver Stencils this month. I enjoyed my stint this month and had so much fun playing with Dreamweaver Stencils. The Dream Team challenge you to be especially “Thankful and Thoughtful” during this month. Link your creations with this theme in mind on the Dream It Up! blog using the Inlinkz tool and you could win the stencil of your choice. A bonus stencil of our choosing could be yours for using Dreamweaver product(s) in your artwork. Today I want to share a technique to make another art journal background, but this time…

Glitter and acrylic – a perfect marriage!

    August 9, 2012 / No Comments

I thought some of you might like to see one of the projects I submitted for review when auditioning for the Art Glitter and Xyron design teams. This is an acrylic book I taught as a class a while back. I was inspired to create this project after Barbara Trombley, owner of Art Glitter, held classes in Scrap Tales where I was working at the time. I had not been a huge fan of glitter before taking Barbara’s classes that week, but in watching and listening to her I realized I could use her product and still stay true to my distressed, vintage style. I favor Art Glitter’s Microfine…

    Fall workshops

    August 2, 2012 / No Comments

Even though temps are still pretty high around here my attention is focused on Fall – Fall workshops that is. I’ve been working on several projects this summer that will be offered this Fall as workshops and I wanted to share some sneak peeks with you all. My calendar is being updated as workshops get confirmed so check back often. The first is this Christmas-themed configurations tray using Graphic 45 papers, Art Glitter, Globecraft Memories and Xyron. Go figure! I managed to work them all into one project that I think you’ll love to display each year during the holiday season. We’ll work with acrylic paints, inks, embossing powders, fussy-cutting,…

Just coming off CHA this week. For those of you who may not be aware, this is one of our major trade shows for the Craft and Hobby Association. There are two shows each year; the first in January. It’s a show where the manufacturers display their wares for store owners and designers. It’s a great place to spot new trends and see which timeless classics are still around. It’s very exciting to have an opportunity to attend and I had the double pleasure of also being able to share my love for some of my favorite products from Globecraft Memories. It was a great time but I’m home again…

A recent challenge among the Xyron Design Team was to take an old project and make it new; Xyron would send the project with our supplies. Unfortunately I didn’t receive an old project with my supplies so I had to find something old and make it new on my own. I find it easier when someone just hands me something and says “here, fix this please.” But, that didn’t happen so I dug out my bin of ‘stuff’ I’ve held on to in hopes that one day I would use them to create a project. At first I found an old cd wooden advertisement box. Took photos of it and…

New cd class features Prima papers …

    May 29, 2012 / No Comments

Hi everyone! Wanted to share my latest cd class with you all. It took several tries but it finally came together and the Prima Nature Garden collection of papers and embellishments were the perfect choice for this project. This class is coming up Saturday at Scrapbook Peddler in Saginaw. There are a few openings remaining and you can register by calling the store at (989) 497-2767. This new cd class uses a mix of beautiful papers from the Prima Nature Garden Collection and a coordinating Prima flower spray along with Prima’s Vintage Trinkets. You’ll cover each of the 10 pages with the Nature Garden Collection and along the way use…

Me and Bailey

DIY & Creative Papercrafter

I love paint-spattered jeans and baggy flannel shirts, being up to my eyeballs in a DIY project or working my way through a new class of some sort. Oh, and a good cup of coffee – let’s not forget the coffee! All the while Bailey is trying his best to get my attention.
