    Christmas is a coming!

    November 12, 2014 / No Comments

Howdy again! I’m back again as guest designer with Dream Weaver this month and looking forward to sharing with you some ideas I have for using Dream Weaver products. This is my second post this month for the theme Thankful and Thoughtful. Link your creations, using the Thankful and Thoughtful theme on the Dream It Up! blog using the Inlinkz tool at the end of this post – you could win the stencil of your choice and a bonus stencil of our choosing could be yours for using Dreamweaver products in your artwork. Be sure to stop by the blogs of the regular Dream Team members as well – loads…

    Fusing Fantasy Fibers

    August 23, 2012 / No Comments

I tried my hand this week at playing with Art Glitter’s Fantasy Fibers. I’ve not used them before but what thrilled me was the way they fuse together and the fact that you can embed STUFF in them! Hop on over to the Art Glitter Blog today to see how I used the Fantasy Fibers in this project.

Glitter and acrylic – a perfect marriage!

    August 9, 2012 / No Comments

I thought some of you might like to see one of the projects I submitted for review when auditioning for the Art Glitter and Xyron design teams. This is an acrylic book I taught as a class a while back. I was inspired to create this project after Barbara Trombley, owner of Art Glitter, held classes in Scrap Tales where I was working at the time. I had not been a huge fan of glitter before taking Barbara’s classes that week, but in watching and listening to her I realized I could use her product and still stay true to my distressed, vintage style. I favor Art Glitter’s Microfine…

    Fall workshops

    August 2, 2012 / No Comments

Even though temps are still pretty high around here my attention is focused on Fall – Fall workshops that is. I’ve been working on several projects this summer that will be offered this Fall as workshops and I wanted to share some sneak peeks with you all. My calendar is being updated as workshops get confirmed so check back often. The first is this Christmas-themed configurations tray using Graphic 45 papers, Art Glitter, Globecraft Memories and Xyron. Go figure! I managed to work them all into one project that I think you’ll love to display each year during the holiday season. We’ll work with acrylic paints, inks, embossing powders, fussy-cutting,…

Just coming off CHA this week. For those of you who may not be aware, this is one of our major trade shows for the Craft and Hobby Association. There are two shows each year; the first in January. It’s a show where the manufacturers display their wares for store owners and designers. It’s a great place to spot new trends and see which timeless classics are still around. It’s very exciting to have an opportunity to attend and I had the double pleasure of also being able to share my love for some of my favorite products from Globecraft Memories. It was a great time but I’m home again…

It’s not always so transparent …

    July 12, 2012 / No Comments

I have been trying so many glitter techniques lately and having a blast doing so! And, have you watched Craft Wars yet on TLC on Tuesday nights? They’ve had glitter everywhere – especially this week. In just a few short months I’ve discovered so many ways to use glitter. Sometimes, an idea just hits me while perusing my stash of Stampington magazines to where I wonder if i could replace a certain product with glitter. That’s what happened last week. I usually bookmark ideas with tons of sticky notes for future reference and I came across an article in the Apr/May 2010 The Stamper’s Sampler titled “Beautiful Brayering” I had…

This is a sweet little card – perfect for a birth announcement, recognition or first birthday. Here’s how it’s made: Start with Piccolo Card Decor Set #8. Carefully remove the two pieces from the frame and clean up any rough edges by lightly sanding. I find it rare that I need to sand any edges on the Piccolo elements; they tend to remove easily and cleanly from the background. Start by inking your first piece with Piccolo Enamel Adhesive and sprinkle on the Piccolo Enamel.  I like to tip my covered element over a bead or glitter tray to catch excess enamel rather than tap it off. Heat set the…
