    Depleting my scrapbooking stash

Using my stash during Covid shutdown While staying home during Covid I’ve worked on making scrapbook layouts from my stash; still trying to deplete my abundance of extra supplies. I’ve had a challenge learning to get my classes on line at my membership site. I’m no techy but I’ve pushed through and finally have my membership site up and running. And there’s been plenty of time for playing in the art journal too. I’ve been doing pretty good with Covid for the past year-plus. I’ve never really been a social butterfly anyway. The old guy and I have always spent a lot of time at home since the kids all…

It’s all elementary: scrapbooking school pictures

Scrapbooking school pictures aren’t really my forte but it’s important to include them in the kid’s scrapbooks. As adults, we often look back on our school days, whether it be with fond memories or not-so-fond memories, and I feel a need to include them in my scrapbooks. My oldest son turned 50 in 2020. I’m still in shock! I have no idea where the years have gone but I’m determined to have all his photos sorted and scrapped this year so I’m happy to start with scrapbooking his school pictures. Gather photos you want to use I store my photos in two very large Rubbermaid tubs, an old cardboard turkey…

    Remembering Grandpa

Dennis and I were talking this morning in his room about junk that needs to be sorted and gotten rid of. As I was looking around he mentioned the stack of his mom’s pictures. They were sitting under a shelf in a storage cabinet, just out in the open. Under the pile of photos was a little brag book of photos called ‘Grandma’s Show-and-Tell. We opened it as we turned the pages we could see our two youngest kids grow up right before our eyes. Those photos brought back a flood of happy memories as both of our parents are gone now. We were fortunate our kids were able to…

    Makings of a one-pic-wonder …

Yes, I REALLY do like scrapbook pages with one photo. I’m not against lots of photos on a page, but I find I can capture a memory with one favorite photo that talks to ME and that’s what scrapbooking is all about for me. My pages talk to me, they’re my memories. I can’t speak for anyone else, only me and so I scrap for myself. Yes, I’m working on books for my kids, but they’ll be filled with my memories of those times – they’ll have to fill in with their own memories if they like. Recently I found myself so uninspired that every time I went to my…
