    Focusing on the positive…

If there was ever a time when everything falls apart it was in class this past weekend and, as an instructor, that’s the one place you never want it to happen. I’ll admit, the majority of my classes usually go extremely well and I consider myself very fortunate. It doesn’t just happen, though. There’s a lot of time put into designing my projects, keeping track of all the products used…

    Weather, birthdays and classes …

This beautiful weather we’ve been experiencing for a week now is making it very difficult for me to stay indoors and do what needs to be done – like posting to this blog! Today my husband and I started by clearing out a lot of junk out of the garage but as the day wore on we both found ourselves sitting under the tree and watching the wildlife scurry around…

    Sharing school memories …

Are there any memories more vivid than those we have from our days spent in school? It’s where many of us made life-long friends, decided on a career path or met our spouse. Not all memories I have of school are good ones. I still remember my 6th grade teacher – Miss Pomeroy – who would whack her pointer stick on my desk when she’d catch me biting my nails…

Celebrating random chunks of time …

My mother-in-law has been delivered safely to her home back in Florida – a three-day drive there and two-day visit and then another three-day drive home. The lovely lady spent the summer with us and was right at home with the temps we’ve been experiencing. After weeks of 90-plus degree temperatures and air conditioning everyday it’s now in the 50’s and I’m tempted to turn on the furnace! Go figure.…

    Beyond a good read …

My interest in books goes well beyond a good read. I’m often measuring the cover for its dimensions, scanning the pages for interesting words or phrases and checking for aging and yellowing pages. I see a different kind of story. Not one told with words but a story told through art. I love to cut the book apart and repurpose the covers by altering with art materials or covering them…

    Another chapter ends …

Well, it’s true. Scrap Tales, the wonderful scrapbook store where I have worked for nearly nine years is closing its doors for good. The news just saddens us all who love this store. I started working there as a part-time employee and moved into manager/creative director shortly afterward. Working in the industry has been a real joy which has enabled me to build my skills and my love for mixed-media.…

My day at the Zoo …

So, I’m on vacation and felt like doing something then I thought “umm, new BoBunny Zoology papers…” – need some Zoo photos! Just a few minutes later daughter calls and says she was thinking we haven’t been to the Zoo in years. Husband says how about the Toledo Zoo? We check the weather and it says cloudy, 80 degrees with chance of rain after 5 p.m. Perfect weather for a Zoo visit.…

Welcome to the new blog …

For some time now I have been experiencing problems with my blog at http://scrappedtreasures.com and I simply couldn’t figure out on my own how to resolve them so I finally decided to create a new one. My son had initially created it for me and with him in Seattle it just wasn’t feasible for him to help me so I reasoned that if I created this one myself I should…
