    Fall workshops

Even though temps are still pretty high around here my attention is focused on Fall – Fall workshops that is. I’ve been working on several projects this summer that will be offered this Fall as workshops and I wanted to share some sneak peeks with you all. My calendar is being updated as workshops get confirmed so check back often. The first is this Christmas-themed configurations tray using Graphic 45 papers, Art Glitter, Globecraft Memories and Xyron. Go figure! I managed to work them all into one project that I think you’ll love to display each year during the holiday season. We’ll work with acrylic paints, inks, embossing powders, fussy-cutting,…

    Operation Write Home

Xyron and We R Memory Keepers have partnered to help support Operation Write Home, an organization that provides handmade cards to deployed soldiers so they can write home to their families and loved ones. Xyron Design Team members are participating and samples of all the great cards have been shared throughout the week on Ain’t She Crafty. Hop on over there to check them all out! For my cards, I took a cue from my friend Robin who has participated in Operation Write Home frequently. She’s mailed hundreds of cards to the organization that she and friends have made and also those from our Cracker Jack Stampers club. Her cards for…

Using minimal supplies to create one-of-a-kind gifts…

This old-fashioned looking tag came about because of a special gift I received from my friend Robin at Cracker Jack Stampers the other night. Robin made us all beautiful gift tags and adorable little wrapped packages of chocolate – love chocolate! The gift inspired me to create hand-made tags to add to the home-made peanut brittle I make and give each Christmas. The peanut brittle has become a cooking tradition for me and something I really enjoy making and giving. So using some basic stamping supplies and a stack of manila shipping tags I set out to create a collection of individually-designed tags. I also proceeded to make one giant…

    Weather, birthdays and classes …

This beautiful weather we’ve been experiencing for a week now is making it very difficult for me to stay indoors and do what needs to be done – like posting to this blog! Today my husband and I started by clearing out a lot of junk out of the garage but as the day wore on we both found ourselves sitting under the tree and watching the wildlife scurry around the pond. Dinner was cooked on the grill and we ate on the patio. What a wonderful day! I justified the easy day by telling myself I’ll take it for my birthday instead of Monday – works for me (I…

    Just a note …

Been working on some card-making this week among other projects. I buy lots of stamps for cards I want to make but never seem to get around to doing it. Well, I spent yesterday afternoon in my room creating cards. I’ve never considered myself a card maker so it takes me three times as long to finish one – much longer than building a scrapbook page or mini book! I have this Hero Arts cling stamp – Daisy Label – which is a framed stamp with journal lines running through the center. I wanted to use only the frame so chose not to ink the inside areas of the stamp. The…
