Depleting my scrapbooking stash
Using my stash during Covid shutdown While staying home during Covid I’ve worked on making scrapbook layouts from my stash; still trying to deplete my abundance of extra supplies. I’ve had a challenge learning to get my classes on line at my membership site. I’m no techy but I’ve pushed through and finally have my membership site up and running. And there’s been plenty of time for playing in the art journal too. I’ve been doing pretty good with Covid for the past year-plus. I’ve never really been a social butterfly anyway. The old guy and I have always spent a lot of time at home since the kids all…

It’s all elementary: scrapbooking school pictures
Scrapbooking school pictures aren’t really my forte but it’s important to include them in the kid’s scrapbooks. As adults, we often look back on our school days, whether it be with fond memories or not-so-fond memories, and I feel a need to include them in my scrapbooks. My oldest son turned 50 in 2020. I’m still in shock! I have no idea where the years have gone but I’m determined to have all his photos sorted and scrapped this year so I’m happy to start with scrapbooking his school pictures. Gather photos you want to use I store my photos in two very large Rubbermaid tubs, an old cardboard turkey…

Creating is good for the soul
I never claimed to be an artist. I couldn’t tell you which colors will play off each other nicely, how to draw a face, the fundamental concepts of composition and design (heck, I don’t even know what that means!). What I do know is how to sit and create (play with my stuff). I also know that when I take the time to sit, create, and play, I can lose myself for hours and totally forget about the world around me and just totally relax and let go. It’s something I feel a lot of us feel guilty about the taking the time for. We need play time, whether that…

A magnetic attraction
We’ve been in our new location going on eight months now so I guess it’s really not so new anymore. I’ve always felt bad because we never had time to paint before we moved everything in and then it’s just been busy keeping up with classes, custom furniture painting and painting pieces to sell in the Studio. This week’s workload was a little light so I got the itch to put some paint on a wall. I tested four or five colors last week and not one was well received by the majority so I finally settled on the beautiful light grey we had at our first location. There was…
