It’s all elementary: scrapbooking school pictures

Scrapbooking school pictures aren’t really my forte but it’s important to include them in the kid’s scrapbooks. As adults, we often look back on our school days, whether it be with fond memories or not-so-fond memories, and I feel a need to include them in my scrapbooks. My oldest son turned 50 in 2020. I’m still in shock! I have no idea where the years have gone but I’m determined to have all his photos sorted and scrapped this year so I’m happy to start with scrapbooking his school pictures. Gather photos you want to use I store my photos in two very large Rubbermaid tubs, an old cardboard turkey…

    Remembering Grandpa

Dennis and I were talking this morning in his room about junk that needs to be sorted and gotten rid of. As I was looking around he mentioned the stack of his mom’s pictures. They were sitting under a shelf in a storage cabinet, just out in the open. Under the pile of photos was a little brag book of photos called ‘Grandma’s Show-and-Tell. We opened it as we turned the pages we could see our two youngest kids grow up right before our eyes. Those photos brought back a flood of happy memories as both of our parents are gone now. We were fortunate our kids were able to…

    This mini makes me happy

I’m often asked which Xyron machine is my favorite and for this assignment that’s exactly what the Xyron people wanted to know. Such a difficult question to answer – especially for me. I own, love and use them all and have for all my crafting years. My Xyron 1.5″ Sticker Maker was purchased on my very first night of scrapbooking at a crop. I had no idea what I was doing back then but realized quickly this was one little special tool! It didn’t take me long to purchase the 5″ Creative Station then before I knew it I just had to have the 9″ Creative Station because I make…

    Quick & easy holiday ideas

It’s time for more holiday ideas through Xyron’s 30 days of Holidays! There is nothing I like more than a home-made Christmas. Brings back great childhood memories of making ornaments and decorations with my mother and siblings. I’ve come up – with some help from Pinterest – with some quick and easy decorations that really lend that home-made look to the home and gift items that are equally fun to do with the kids. First up is a book mark. This was so easy to make with Xyron’s laminate cartridge and it’s a great way to preserve your art or that of a child – show me a grandma or grandpa…

    2-in-1 gift boxes

So…would I do it again? Yes, probably would. Ever had a project in mind that should be pretty easy to achieve only to find out it’s a whole lot more complicated than you thought? That’s where I am with these adorable little Gift Boxes/Ornaments. They are more work than anticipated but the end result is so worth it! Welcome to Xyron’s Holiday Blog Hop! My first contribution is today and I’ll be back in December with another project. In the mean time be sure to visit all the other designers to see what they’ve been up to for Xyron – some amazing projects out there! I began with regular matchboxes…

Glitter and acrylic – a perfect marriage!

I thought some of you might like to see one of the projects I submitted for review when auditioning for the Art Glitter and Xyron design teams. This is an acrylic book I taught as a class a while back. I was inspired to create this project after Barbara Trombley, owner of Art Glitter, held classes in Scrap Tales where I was working at the time. I had not been a huge fan of glitter before taking Barbara’s classes that week, but in watching and listening to her I realized I could use her product and still stay true to my distressed, vintage style. I favor Art Glitter’s Microfine…

    Fall workshops

Even though temps are still pretty high around here my attention is focused on Fall – Fall workshops that is. I’ve been working on several projects this summer that will be offered this Fall as workshops and I wanted to share some sneak peeks with you all. My calendar is being updated as workshops get confirmed so check back often. The first is this Christmas-themed configurations tray using Graphic 45 papers, Art Glitter, Globecraft Memories and Xyron. Go figure! I managed to work them all into one project that I think you’ll love to display each year during the holiday season. We’ll work with acrylic paints, inks, embossing powders, fussy-cutting,…

    Sincerely

Just coming off CHA this week. For those of you who may not be aware, this is one of our major trade shows for the Craft and Hobby Association. There are two shows each year; the first in January. It’s a show where the manufacturers display their wares for store owners and designers. It’s a great place to spot new trends and see which timeless classics are still around. It’s very exciting to have an opportunity to attend and I had the double pleasure of also being able to share my love for some of my favorite products from Globecraft Memories. It was a great time but I’m home again…
